Newent is the largest town in North West Gloucestershire and is surrounded by local towns of Ledbury, Dymock, and Ross-on-Wye. Newent has long been known for its wild daffodils which grow naturally in the woods and meadows around the town, it’s certainly one of the most attractive towns in the Forest of Dean area.

Newent (originally called "Noent") has a population of around 4,700. It’s the home to the now world famous, Onion Fayre, in 2012 more than 15,000 people flocked to the streets of the town in order to visit the hugely popular event. Newent is well situated for the commuter with the M50 only 3 miles away, and the M5 is only 13.5 miles away. Two train stations are near to the town; these are in Gloucester and Ledbury both within half an hour and international airports of Bristol, Birmingham and Cardiff are within a 90 minutes’ drive.

There are many different sporting and leisure organizations in Newent. Football, Golf, Rugby and Cricket are all well catered for. There is an indoor leisure centre with swimming pool and fitness suite available.

Education is catered for in the town by Glebe Infant School, Picklenash Junior School and Newent Community School, providing secondary and further education.
